Facts, facts, facts? What often comes first at university is often less important at the workplace. After all, if you want to be successful as a biologist working on social progress and solving complex problems, you need one quality above all: to be a team player in interaction with players from other fields and disciplines.

You can gain your first experience as an “expert” in the interdisciplinary programmes offered by the Department of Biology in cooperation with other departments across the TU Darmstadt. Here you meet students from different departments, disciplines or countries. You will learn what it means to work as a biologist in a group of scientists from different disciplines. You will get to know different working methods and problem-solving strategies.

KIVA – Interdisciplinary Study Projects

Learn what it means to be an expert in an interdisciplinary project. At KIVA, students from different disciplines gather in project groups. They are given a complex, open-ended and socially relevant task that they solve independently.

Join the project week that is out of this world. Coordinated by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Biology, and the Department of Materials and Earth Sciences, INSPIRED offers a unique combination of a „virtual classroom“ and „real life“ project work.
